Love Ain't No Stranger by Lee Wilde 2008

This is a digital image I created in Photoshop in 2008. Every now and then I think about making an actual drawing of it, with black ink.

When I listen to the lyrics of the song, “Love ain’t no stranger” I imagine a person’s inner-self when they’re in love, splits off into another unique entity which exists alongside (or is wrapped around?) their original inner-self. Sadly, this in-love-self will dissipate into memories, once love dies and a new love will cause a new in-love-self to form.

Deceit by Lee Wilde 2007

I copied the face in the sleeve from this drawing I did back in 2007.

Returning to the song, I was thinking…. what if “love ain’t no stranger” is not a statement, but an unfinished sentence?

Love ain’t no stranger….. than what?

Hmmmm….. well, we all carry our own emotional baggage with us everywhere we go,  and naturally life has an effect on our personalities … altering us a little each day. So…. as unique as each of us are… that is how uniquely (strangely) we are able to love. That makes sense.. to me, anyway :p

Excellent song and David Coverdale’s voice is so musical in itself… just listen. He doesn’t even need the guitar.
